Private OM Yoga
I have been a student and practitioner of yoga for over 15 years with a personal interest in encouraging others to find their way by taping into their true essence of their beauty. Through my experience and the knowledge of all my teachers I will offer a deep understanding of the enrichment of yoga through body alignment, breath, and body awareness. Weaving together yoga, restorative bodywork, energetics, breath, and mindfulness, each individual is encouraged to set up a solid foundation “on and off the mat” to create a life that is rich with all possibilities and understanding of one’s true nature as well as a greater sense of compassion for everyone, starting with yourself.
As a yoga practitioner living and practicing in Knoxville, I am interested in drawing from the ancient teachings and integrating them holistically through bridging the gap into our busy Western culture. My goal is to take what I know and share all that I can to influence a positive change as yoga did for me and still does to this day. I encourage the practice of yoga to solidify all aspects of balance and merely take what we know and grow in a way that can enhance every choice you make and give you a better outlook through the integrity of the ancient teachings of mindfulness on and off the mat. In private sessions we will look at the physical, psychic and emotional disturbances to formulate a practice that is most suited for the individual mind/body. I have experience working with those with a broad range of clients from those with terminal illness and trauma to general stress and tension causing acute or chronic patterns of limitation or pain. Private sessions can be very beneficial when needing special assistance in certain areas or in depth learning than a group class can provide.
I have been certified in pre and post natal yoga, tummy time for babies, spiritual counseling, and restorative mindful yoga. I have had the exposure and the pleasure to go deeper in her practice while studying with great yoga teachers, and spiritual teachers getting a deeper perspective on mindful healing. My teachers have helped her steep in these sciences, and she is forever grateful for the wisdom they have imparted and continue to impart as she continues to work with them while living in Knoxville.
Why schedule a private lesson?
You are a yoga student with questions that haven’t been answered in class or that you haven’t been able to ask in class. In a private yoga session you can receive detailed, in-depth answers. If you are an active person/athlete: runner, cyclist, dancer, golfer or other enthusiast and need something to help balance out the demands of your sport. Yoga can add balance to your fitness routine and improve performance. If you have an injury, illness or chronic pain yoga can help relieve these problems. If you are looking for new ways to cope with stress and the challenges of life then yoga is an effective way to relieve stress, relax and reenergize your body and mind.
